Support: Log Lion

Before you post

Search the existing issues. If yours is there, add a 👍 and anything new you know.
Include your Log Lion version from Help > About, whether it came from the Microsoft Store or the MSI installer, and the steps that show the problem.
Issues and discussions are public, and logs often hold names, addresses and secrets. Share only the lines that show the problem, with anything sensitive replaced. If only the real file shows it, say so and we'll arrange a private way to send it.
Found a security vulnerability? Report it privately instead of opening an issue.

Where is the help?: Press F1 in Log Lion, or use the Help menu. The help covers every log type, the filter language, coloring and the analysis tools. The same guide is on GitHub.
Where does Log Lion keep my filters, profiles and scripts?: In %APPDATA%\Log Lion. Tools > Open Data Folder opens it for you.
Why can't I open the Security event log?: Windows only lets administrators read it. Right-click Log Lion in the Start menu, choose More > Run as administrator, and open it again.
Why do some events in an .etl trace say the manifest is unavailable?: Their provider isn't registered on this PC. Log Lion still shows the time, provider, event ID and other header fields. Open the trace on the machine that recorded it to see the full messages.
How do I capture debug output from a Windows service?: Set the Debug Output source's namespace to Global under View > Settings, and run Log Lion as an administrator.
How do I install an extension?: Put it in its own folder under %APPDATA%\Log Lion\Extensions and restart Log Lion. You'll be asked to approve it before it loads. Tools > Extensions shows what's installed.
How do I get a refund?: Purchases through the Microsoft Store are refunded through Microsoft. See your order history at account.microsoft.com.
