Database logs
Open a log that lives in a table, in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, SQLite or any database with an ODBC driver.
What the video shows
- A short profile (.lldb) names the connection, the table and its key. That is all an ordinary log table needs.
- Before Log Lion connects, it shows the server and the query and asks. A profile is code that runs against your server, so it asks first.
- It reads 1,150,002 rows over ODBC. The timeline shows a burst of entries at 14:05.
- The same filter language used for any log finds the single FATAL entry among them.
- Turn the filter off and the match stays colored in place, with the 503 timeouts that led up to it around it.
Log Lion only reads the table. Rows are fetched a page at a time by key, so a very large table opens without loading it all.
